Dear Media Cybernetics,
I am using the Otolith to measure distances between lines. What is the differences in the measures of distance and space?

    Dear Yuri,

I am trying to measure the distance between these brown lines. I think the lines of intersection will do it for me, expect I am getting measures of distance and space. I would like to know how these two measures differ in the ROI that I choose.

Thanks for the illustration, it clarifies the question. Otholith measurements are based on line profile and detected features along it (edges). The Distance column contains distances from the line origin to an edge (yellow mark) and the Space column is the distance between neighbouring edges.
You could also use Line profile directly to get such measurements.

The error is related to a missing font on your system. It's hard to tell why it shows up without full info about your system: what OS do you use, what version of Image-Pro, the steps to reproduce the error.
You may click the button Send in the error dialog and more info will be forwarded to the tech support, which may help to identify the problem. You can also contact tech support directly ([email protected]) to troubleshoot the problem.

    Best regards,

  • Hi gingersnaps,

Can you please clarify your question with some illustration? What do you mean under "space" and "distance"?

  • Hi Yuri,

Thank you, for the quick reply. Would I be able to automate with line profile app?

  • Line Profile is not an app, it's just a tool in Image-Pro, which you can find on the Measure tab (Line Profile button). As any tool in Image-Pro, it supports macro recording and playback, which can be used to automate your tasks.
You can find more information in Image-Pro Help (search for "Line Profile")

  • Hi

How can I get rid of this error?

  • What error?
  • error in procedure export meas or class mode
  • How can we reproduce it?
  • error code image
  • It's difficult to say what the error is from that screenshot. We need a way to reproduce the error, can you please describe the steps that lead to the error? Do you always get it? Can you also send the test image?
