Both measurements describe shape of the objects and how it's different from a perfect circle (1.0). The formulas for these measurements are shown in the tooltip:
Thank you! If I'm trying to look at EMT morphology would one measurement be better to use than the other? When I did both measurements I got opposites trends in my data.
Also, for roundness the farther the values deviate from one does that mean that they are not as perfectly round? And for the circularity measurement, I see that the value should be between 0 and 1 but is 1 indicating it being closer to a perfect circle?
Yes, the measurements have opposite trends, though for both 1 indicates a perfect circle. You can choose any of them for EMT measurements. Or just select both and see which one is better for classification.
