DATA COLLECTOR -- COUNT ON EACH FRAME -- 2024-08-12-174652

2024-08-12-174652

All --

I have a customer with an challenge related to the analysis of a MOVIE.

This customer would like to do an analysis of each frame of the MOVIE.

I have set up a similar challenge in the these images.

In this SCREEN CAPTURE, the FIRST FRAME of an 11 FRAME MOVIE is open and a DARK THRESHOLD has been set.

In this SCREEN CAPTURE the MEASUREMENT OPTIONS have been set to COUNT ALL DARK OBJECTS, EXTRACT PER AREA MEASUREMENTS, and show SUM PER AREA.  The SUM PER AREA for FRAME 01 of this MOVIE is 29.15%.

In this SCREEN CAPTURE the MEASUREMENT OPTIONS have been set to COUNT ALL DARK OBJECTS, EXTRACT PER AREA MEASUREMENTS, and show SUM PER AREA.  The SUM PER AREA for FRAME 11 of this MOVIE is 34.93%.

I have set up the DATA COLLECTOR in IMAGE-PRO 11 to COLLECT the SUM PER AREA.  This is shown here with the problem.

The problem is that the DATA COLLECTOR does not do a COUNT on each FRAME of the MOVIE.  In the last image above, I did a COUNT on the LAST FRAME (11 of 11).  When I do a COLLECT FROM ALL FRAMES, I get the SUM PER AREA for the LAST IMAGE because IP 11 does not execute a COUNT on IMAGE 01 through 11 while doing the COLLECT FROM ALL FRAMES.

How do I make IP 11 do a COUNT on each frame of the MOVIE so that the DATA COLLECTOR will have the SUM PER AREA for the DARK OBJECTS in each FRAME of the MOVIE?

The EXAMPLE MOVIE FILE

    Aggregate 01_Subs.tif

and the DATA COLLECTOR ADOXSD CONFIGURATION FILE

area attached.

Thank you in advance for your assistance with this.

  • Hi Matt,

I tested your image and DC file in IP 11.1 and don't see any problem. The data from all frames, including the last frame, is collected properly:

BTW, your screenshot also shows the data from 11th frame, so I don't understand what you think is not right.

I've also attached another ADOXSD file with the Snapshot column, so you can validate the source frame for data collection. It should look like this:

    Please check it.

    Yuri --

    Thanks for looking at this.

The IP 11.1 on my computer was not doing a COUNT on each FRAME so all of the ROWS in the DATA COLLECTOR TABLE were the same for me.

    I will try it again.

    Thanks.

    Yuri --

When I set everything up in the manner that I think matches yours, the DATA COLLECTOR reports the SUM of PER AREA for whatever FRAME was COUNTED before the COLLECT ALL FRAMES is run.

    This is shown here.

The MEASUREMENT OVERLAYS and the the DATA in the DATA TABLE are from FRAME 1.

What do you suggest to resolve this?

    Thanks.

    Matt,

How do you collect data? You must use the Collect button on Count/Size tab with the All Frames option checked, as shown on my screenshot (not on the Review tab). The Collect All frames on the Review tab just collects intensity data from all frames using the existing outlines, without executing the Count.

    Yuri --

    Thank you for that guidance.

That works on the customer's computer but it does not work on my computer.

I will wrap up with them and make a video that illustrates this and send it to you.

    Thanks again.

    Yuri --

I created a SCREEN RECORDING that I think illustrates the issue.

The MOVIE FILE is too large to post here.

I have sent you a link to the MOVIE FILE.

I hope this helps us diagnose and resolve this issue.

    Thanks.
