message:out of memory

Hello everyone, does anyone know what's going wrong when i'm trying to get data from the tool track objects and it doesn't work, i only get a message:out of memory and it doesn't show me the tracks data. What is the maximum size of a sequence that image pro plus can open?

Hi Vicky,

IP Plus is a 32-bit application and it has memory limitations. It's difficult to say exactly what is the maximum image size, it depends on what operations are performed with that.

If the tracking gives "Out of memory" error, try to reduce number of frames, sub-sample the sequence opening the file and track again.

You can adjust some of the Tracking graphics options to minimize memory footprint:

• Show partial tracks rather than complete tracks
• Turn off  object outlines on the active frame
• Don't show object names
• Remove unneeded measurements
• Adjust thresholds and measurement ranges to remove excess false positive objects

I don't know if these will solve your problem, but they may help. Otherwise, Yuri's suggestions are excellent - try subsampling to every other or every third frame, limiting tracking to an appropriate region of interest, etc.
